Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve, we left to go to my parents as soon as Chad got off work. We were hoping that everyone had already left and that traffic wouldn't be bad......well, that was NOT the case. Of course traffic was bad. We were hoping to make it to church and luckily we did. I talked to my mom on the way and told her we would plan on meeting them there, but might be a few minutes late. We walked in right as church was starting. It was a very nice service, geared a lot towards kids, which is always fun. After church, we went to my cousins to eat and stayed there until about 10, then went back to my parents, unloaded presents, etc. We sure were excited about Santa coming and finally decided we better get to sleep, didn't want him to pass us up! Also, we convinced my dad not to build a fire in the fireplace, didn't want Santa getting burned!

Toadally Awesome
Kit-Kat bought me a gift and was nice enough to let me open it yesterday! They are frog pajamas that say Toadally Awesome on the shirt AND the shirt lights up! They are really cute. Will take a picture when I have more time and post it later.

COLD!!!!!!
It is soooooooooooo cold today!!!!! I'm so glad that I am off work and able to stay at home and nice and warm today. There is some sort of ice falling right now. I kept hearing it and finally went outside and you can see the small pieces of ice, it's gathering on our glass patio table, but not sticking anywhere else. The weather shows an ice mix right now in our area.

Oreo Balls
Today I made Oreo Balls with my mom, they were sooooo good!!!! It's so easy to make (looks pretty gross when the oreo powder and cream cheese are mixed together), but this is a super easy and very tasty Christmas goody! They are so rich, you can't eat too many at one time and I love sweets, but think I could get sick if I ate too many. There are different versions on the internet, but I have included how we made ours today.
Oreo Balls Recipe Ingredients
8 ounces softened cream cheese or whipped cream cheese
18 ounces package of Oreo cookies, crushed
white almond bark
Using a blender or food processor crush Oreos into a fine powder (we were surprised that Oreos would turn into such a fine powder). Mix oreo powder and softened cream cheese together. Roll into walnut size balls. Chill for an hour or longer. Melt white almond bark (we melted half at a time so that it wouldn't have time to start getting hard before we were finished dipping the Oreo balls. Stick a toothpick (we ended up using a spoon, toothpick didn't work real well) in an Oreo ball and dip it in the melted white almond bark. Allow to harden on wax paper. You can put back in the freezer if you want to speed up the hardening process.

Hot Weather
It's just a few days until Christmas and unbelievably hot. I know it is supposed to get really cold soon, but then will be back warmer by Christmas day. The weather has been so yucky and the humidity is awful, everything has been wet for days and we haven't even had rain. I shouldn't be sweating this much this close to Christmas! If it wasn't for the Christmas decorations all over and the Christmas music playing, you would never even think it was Winter!
I am still excited about being off for 2 weeks though :)

T.G.I.F.
YIPPEEEEE!!! The day I have been waiting for is finally here! This has been a tough week. The kids were a little better today than I thought, but I only had the worst group for less than an hour and they were playing chess and watching a video so I wasn't having to do too much with them. The party went pretty smoothly. At 11:00, we loaded them on the bus and that was such a great feeling! I am so looking forward to the next 2 weeks. I want some time to just do nothing or whatever it is I want to do.
Have a great weekend!!!!!

2 1/2 more days!!!!!
It's getting closer and closer to Friday and I can't wait! I don't know how I will survive until then, you can feel the excitement in the air, the kids are soooo excited about how close Christmas is. I had my observation today. It went really well. The kids were basically good, just minor things and the lesson went fine. Luckily my computer didn't act up, usually technology doesn't work when I am being observed, but the game we played worked just fine.

Weather and 3 1/2 Days!!!!!
It was freaking cold today!!! I wore a short sleeve t-shirt and only had a light jacket that I keep in my classroom to wear. It was warm when I got to work, but by the time we went to enrichment at 8:10, everyone was already talking about how cold it was. Parents kept bringing jackets to their kids today. This weather sure caught us off guard! I froze at bus duty today. Tomorrow I will be prepared with scarf, gloves, and a heavy jacket!
I have my observation tomorrow at 9:30.
There are only 3 1/2 days until we are out of school for Christmas!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!! I can't wait!
I need to finish wrapping some presents, but other than that I am ready! We're going to celebrate with my family, all of us will actually be there on Christmas Day this year, for this first time in a long time.

4 1/2 days
I am soooooooo excited that we only 4 1/2 days left before Christmas Break!!!! Tuesday I am having my observation, not sure that was such a good choice this close to Christmas, but I had to get it in and that was what would work. I also wanted it with my morning class and not my afternoon class. The morning class will behave for the most part. The afternoon class......well, that's a different story. So think about me from 9:30-10:15 on Tuesday! Friday is a half day, kids are out at 11 and our party is from 10:15-11:00. I do not like parties at school, it's always a stressful day and the kids will be wild, but I am just ready for Friday to be here and over with! I can't believe Christmas is coming up so soon. I wrapped more presents yesterday, I decided to play with Kit-Kat and get her tired before I started wrapping, it worked good, except she decided to try to take a nap right where I was working! Last night, we went to Prestonwood Forest to look at the lights. There were a few that probably had the most lights I had ever seen. We have gone the past few years, it's always fun even though the traffic is pretty bad!

~SNOW~
Yesterday, we had lots of snow!!!! Well, lots for Houston at least! It started sleeting around 3:30 and then by 4 when I got home it had turned into some snow mixed in. Eventually the sleet stopped and it was just snow falling. The snow was really heavy at times. I kept going out and taking pictures! Once Chad came home, we both went out and just stood in the snow! I went to bed a little after 10 and it was STILL snowing!!!!! I just knew that I would get a phone call/text this morning saying that school would at least be delayed by an hour or two or better yet closed! I put my cell and home phone beside the bed so when the phone rang early this morning I would be able to pick it up without getting out of the warm bed. WELL........ that didn't happen :( never got the phone call, we had school as usual :( Guess I shouldn't complain since we have already had 9 bad weather days this year and are about to be out for 2 weeks, but it would have been nice to be home today. 5 1/2 days until Christmas Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post snow pictures later, I really took a whole bunch!!!!

~7 1/2 days~
Ok, this week and next better just fly by. Each day I get in a worse and worse and worse mood than the previous day (yes, I know I broke all kinds of grammar rules, I'm sure...that's why I teach math!) I am sooooooooooooo ready for June to get here.
AND tomorrow is going to be cold and I don't like cold weather. They are calling for possibly snow showers and/or sleet in the morning! I would love that if it was a day that I could stay home and not have to get out in it. I don't know that it would be enough for school to be cancelled, especially since we already missed so many this year due to Ike.
7 1/2 days isn't that long is it????????????????????????????????????

Wrapping Presents
Last night, I decided to wrap some presents. Kit-Kat decided that the paper looked like a really fun toy....I kept pushing her off in the beginning, but finally just let her play. She would run and pounce on the paper and had the most fun playing. Of course, I took pictures :) I threatened to wrap her up in the paper and give her as a gift to someone, not that anyone would take her! I only ended up getting 2 presents wrapped and one has bite and claw marks all in the paper.
