Petting Zoo

Last year, Kylie enjoyed going to the Rodeo and seeing all the animals and we couldn't wait to take her again this year!  She is such an animal lover, she would rather play with stuffed or plastic animals over baby dolls most days.  She loves any and all animals.  We told her a few days before that she was going to get to see animals so then each day she would ask if we were going that day.  From now on, we're not telling until the day of!

Chad took a day off of work so we could avoid the weekend crowds and we made sure to not go on Spring Break.  It wasn't too crowded, though I was surprised by all the kids there on field trips.  I can't imagine having to keep up with elementary kids there and I am so thankful that we never went there on a field trip!

The weather was great for this time of year, it was warm, but windy.  The wind only bothered us while we were trying to eat lunch, otherwise it wasn't any problem.
On the tram~she insisted it was a choo-choo

I love how gentle she is with animals.
so many of my pictures are of the back of her, she was constantly on the move

I can't remember ever seeing a turkey in a petting zoo before???  Kylie thought it was funny and kept gobbling at it, but wouldn't try to touch it.

Dance

Kylie is still enjoying her dance class and I have seen improvement in her coordination since being in the class.  She has also become more confident around other children and adults which is great, but she's also acting out a little more.

Last week, she was awful.  All during the class I would threaten that we wouldn't stay and play after class if she kept running around and not listening.  She would say that she wanted to stay and play after class, but she refused to listen.  At times, she was even trying to leave out of the room.  I was so frustrated with her and as much as I hated to, I didn't let her play after class~her class is at a children's museum and we always stay and play after class and she looks forward to it each week.  She was so upset with me, screamed the whole way out once she realized that we really were leaving.  She then screamed the whole way home and of course the one time she is screaming we were caught in construction and a lot of traffic.  Then, I needed to stop and get a few groceries and she screamed the whole time there also!  It was the worst morning ever!

Then the next morning she woke up with a horrible cough and I realized that part of her acting up the day before had most likely been because she was getting sick :(  We went to the dr, but of course there is nothing they can give a 2 year old for a cough and we were told it would just run its course and probably last about 2 weeks.  As I'm typing this, it's been about a week and a half and she seems to be feeling much better finally.  Her cough got so bad at times that I thought she was actually going to throw up from coughing.  I hated seeing her sick and not being able to do anything to make it better.
The pictures in this post are from a previous week of dance class.

Pretty In Pink

Always has to look in the mirror once she is dressed~yes, I moved a mirror into the living room just because she was using it so much.

I really tried to convince her to take a pink purse with her that day, instead of the red, but she insisted on the red ladybug purse.
Ready to go shopping!
Love this picture
And just to prove she is a normal toddler, minutes later she was screaming and throwing a fit because she no longer wanted to go shopping.
Somehow this picture uploaded out of order and  it won't let me move it within the post...

Pictures

When she gets new friends, she always introduces them to her other friends, for example "Elephant meet Gorilla."  It is the cutest thing ever and often they hug after meeting each other.
The backpack is her latest hiding place~this time she was trying to hide the tv remote in there, sure glad I saw it!

Happy Birthday Maw!

This post is long overdue, I started it a couple weeks ago and then my laptop crashed, and I had to wait to get a new one before finishing the post.

This year for Maw's birthday we were able to surprise her at her hair appointment and then had a surprise lunch with her and some other family! She had no idea that we were going to spend her birthday with her!
Unc Mike and Aunt Charlotte brought Rudy's BBQ for Maw's birthday!! I love that she calls Uncle Mike, "Unc Mike" and I hope that is what she will always call him.

It might have been Maw's birthday, but Kylie also got some presents.  I love her new little backpack, makes her look so much older wearing it!

Kylie was more than happy to provide us with some entertainment after lunch!  Looking cool with her sunglasses on :)

Aunt Charlotte showed her how to wrap her "plee" around her neck like a scarf.  Off topic...anyone else have a child who is attached to unusual things???  Kylie has 2 pillowcases that go everywhere with her and she will not sleep without them.  This is her "black plee" her other is her "red plee".
