Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve, we left to go to my parents as soon as Chad got off work. We were hoping that everyone had already left and that traffic wouldn't be bad......well, that was NOT the case. Of course traffic was bad. We were hoping to make it to church and luckily we did. I talked to my mom on the way and told her we would plan on meeting them there, but might be a few minutes late. We walked in right as church was starting. It was a very nice service, geared a lot towards kids, which is always fun. After church, we went to my cousins to eat and stayed there until about 10, then went back to my parents, unloaded presents, etc. We sure were excited about Santa coming and finally decided we better get to sleep, didn't want him to pass us up! Also, we convinced my dad not to build a fire in the fireplace, didn't want Santa getting burned!

Christmas Eve at my cousin's house.
The baby laughs, cries, and kicks her feet

Chad got stuck baby-sitting the baby and wasn't real sure what to do with it!
I love this picture!

Toadally Awesome

Kit-Kat bought me a gift and was nice enough to let me open it yesterday! They are frog pajamas that say Toadally Awesome on the shirt AND the shirt lights up! They are really cute. Will take a picture when I have more time and post it later.

First Place Winner.......

Chad won first place in the Ugly Christmas Ornament Contest at his work. I agree...the ornament is pretty bad, have to say the pictures don't do it justice, she is even uglier in person, especially with the flip flops she is wearing!

COLD!!!!!!

It is soooooooooooo cold today!!!!! I'm so glad that I am off work and able to stay at home and nice and warm today. There is some sort of ice falling right now. I kept hearing it and finally went outside and you can see the small pieces of ice, it's gathering on our glass patio table, but not sticking anywhere else. The weather shows an ice mix right now in our area.

Oreo Balls

Today I made Oreo Balls with my mom, they were sooooo good!!!! It's so easy to make (looks pretty gross when the oreo powder and cream cheese are mixed together), but this is a super easy and very tasty Christmas goody! They are so rich, you can't eat too many at one time and I love sweets, but think I could get sick if I ate too many. There are different versions on the internet, but I have included how we made ours today.

Oreo Balls Recipe Ingredients

8 ounces softened cream cheese or whipped cream cheese
18 ounces package of Oreo cookies, crushed
white almond bark

Using a blender or food processor crush Oreos into a fine powder (we were surprised that Oreos would turn into such a fine powder). Mix oreo powder and softened cream cheese together. Roll into walnut size balls. Chill for an hour or longer. Melt white almond bark (we melted half at a time so that it wouldn't have time to start getting hard before we were finished dipping the Oreo balls. Stick a toothpick (we ended up using a spoon, toothpick didn't work real well) in an Oreo ball and dip it in the melted white almond bark. Allow to harden on wax paper. You can put back in the freezer if you want to speed up the hardening process.

Hot Weather

It's just a few days until Christmas and unbelievably hot. I know it is supposed to get really cold soon, but then will be back warmer by Christmas day. The weather has been so yucky and the humidity is awful, everything has been wet for days and we haven't even had rain. I shouldn't be sweating this much this close to Christmas! If it wasn't for the Christmas decorations all over and the Christmas music playing, you would never even think it was Winter!

I am still excited about being off for 2 weeks though :)

T.G.I.F.

YIPPEEEEE!!! The day I have been waiting for is finally here! This has been a tough week. The kids were a little better today than I thought, but I only had the worst group for less than an hour and they were playing chess and watching a video so I wasn't having to do too much with them. The party went pretty smoothly. At 11:00, we loaded them on the bus and that was such a great feeling! I am so looking forward to the next 2 weeks. I want some time to just do nothing or whatever it is I want to do.

Have a great weekend!!!!!

2 1/2 more days!!!!!

It's getting closer and closer to Friday and I can't wait! I don't know how I will survive until then, you can feel the excitement in the air, the kids are soooo excited about how close Christmas is. I had my observation today. It went really well. The kids were basically good, just minor things and the lesson went fine. Luckily my computer didn't act up, usually technology doesn't work when I am being observed, but the game we played worked just fine.
