2 Months Old!
Wow, time really does fly!! It is so hard to believe that our little Kylie Hope is already 2 months old! It seems like she is changing each day.
She had her 2 month check-up yesterday, which included 3 shots :( She looked and sounded so pitiful, complete with tears and quivering lips, it was so sad. Soon after the shots she forgot all about it and never had any effects from the shot~no fever and her legs don't even appear to be sore this morning.
Kylie at:
birth~ 7 pounds 7 ounces 19 3/4 inches long
1 month~ 9 pounds 12 ounces 20 3/4 inches long
2 months~ 11 pounds 8.5 ounces 23 inches long
She still loves her swing and will usually take an afternoon/evening nap in it. Her favorite part of the swing is a red button on it, this isn't a button for entertainment, it's the button for collapsing the legs to fold up the swing. As soon as she gets put in the swing she turns her head to look at the button and usually will end up falling asleep while staring at it. Occasionally she looks at the swing mobile, but usually just prefers the button.
She loves playing on her play mat on the floor as long as she's on her back. She's not too big of a fan of being on her stomach and gets frustrated pretty quickly. There is a penguin and a yellow square that dangle on the play mat and she loves watching them and smiles pretty often at the penguin. The bear that plays music is also a favorite. Each day she is happy spending more and more time on the mat, it's for sure a favorite activity.
She really likes the mobile on her pack n play and when she's really fussy we can turn on the mobile and put her down and she will often stop crying to watch the mobile. Lately, the mobile is even more exciting for her because she's sleeping in her crib at night so she only gets to see the mobile during the day.
Kylie has been doing a great job of holding up her head to look around. She seems to be a little bit nosy ;) so that was good motivation for her to learn how to control her neck! She likes to be held sitting up so that she can look all around and observe everything.
This week I started putting her in the Bumbo for a few minutes, the first day she didn't seem to be too big of a fan, but now she's beginning to enjoy it. It lets her do her favorite activity, look around the room!
She sleeps every night in her crib now and is doing really good at night. She has slept as long as 8 hours at a time, but averages 4-5 hours at a time. Thank goodness for the video monitor, otherwise I would be up a million times a night to check on her!
Last week, she discovered the shelves in her room and just stared and stared at them and all the things on the shelves.
Kylie smiles all the time now, especially first thing in the morning. Sometimes she just gives little smiles, but pretty often we get open mouth toothless grins, they are the best ever!!! Smiles aren't just reserved for mommy and daddy though, she is also often spotted smiling at her favorite toys.
Often during the day, Kylie fights sleep, I think she's afraid that she will miss out on something if she goes to sleep, she does like to know everything that is going on!
Kylie "talks" all the time and is hardly ever quiet, not even when she's sleeping! Often there are cooing noises mixed in with all the other noises and we are anxiously waiting for her to actually laugh out loud, she looks like she is so close to doing it!
When laying on her back, Kylie will roll over on her side and seems to prefer her side sometimes instead of being on her back.
