Happy Anniversary!!!

While in Vegas, we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary!! Wow, can you believe it has already been 2 years?! Feels like just yesterday I was stressing over the wedding!

For our anniversary, we spent some time at the pool during the day and then went to a show that evening. Several years ago, I saw Broadway's The Lion King when it came to Houston and loved it. Recently Vegas has started a production of The Lion King so we decided to see that while we were there. Disney's The Lion King is now playing at Mandalay Bay. It was wonderful, the costumes are just amazing, Chad even commented that he didn't know they could do all that in a play. I would recommend it to everyone!

Le Reve

While in Vegas, we saw the show Le Reve at the Wynn Hotel. It was amazing, can't even begin to describe it, absolutely loved it!! We had great seats, 4 rows from the bottom and on an end where the performers would come and go. To top it off at the end of the performance, the men performers all went to the middle and threw flowers to the audience, one of the performers ran up the stairs and looked at me, smiled, and threw the flower to me!! It was so sweet! I carried the flower around with me all night!

The chase.....

Our first night in Vegas, we saw a celebrity! Chad and I finished dinner and went to catch the monorail back to our hotel. We had just paid and gone thru the turnstile to get to the platform, when Chad said something about the guy that had just exited the platform and was going up the escalator looked like the guy from According To Jim....I turned to look, but he was far enough up that I could just see his back, but I could hear his voice and it sounded just like Andy. We looked at each other for a minute and then decided that we had nothing to lose by following the guy and finding out if it really was him.

And the chase began...........We had to exit the monorail, go up the escalator, then down another escalator~though that time we opted to take the stairs to pass up some slow people, all the while keeping who we thought might be Andy in our sight. The whole time we were thinking okay it really can't be him, but were curious enough that we kept following him. After going down another set of stairs, it was a long walkway towards Harrah's and Imperial Palace casinos. We saw him turn towards Imperial Palace and we sped up even more. We entered the hotel and saw him on an escalator so Chad said we needed to take the stairs to pass him up, Chad was way faster than me and was halfway down and already turning around and getting a good look at the guy. We went down a couple more flights of stairs and finally I was far enough in front that I could turn around and look and we knew that it was Andy! When Andy got off the escalator, Chad told him we were big fans of the show. He shook hands with us and asked us where we were from. He did a small amount of small talk and was a very nice guy. We were so excited to meet someone famous and so glad that he really was such a nice guy.

Vegas~Day 1~Part 2

Our first night we decided to go eat at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah's Hotel. There were so many good things on the menu that we decided we would have to go back another day to try something else. The food there is so good, I had Southern Fried Beer Battered Fish, yummy! Chad had BBQ ribs and shrimp. The whole time we were there I kept an eye out thinking (hoping and praying!) that Toby might make an appearance, but no such luck! I so enjoyed the music and the music videos while we were there, just such a fun place! They of course have a giftshop so I bought a couple of shirts there also :)

next best thing to the real Toby Keith!

Later that night, we did see someone famous.....chased him down and introduced ourselves, but that's another story for an upcoming post!

Vegas Vacation~Day 1!

Morning came early, we had to get up a little after 5 to make sure we were at the airport plenty ahead of time. When we got to the airport the lines were pretty long, but they were sending people over to the Tokyo check-in line and we were able to check-in pretty quickly over there......I was hoping that didn't mean we would have to go to Tokyo, sure not my idea of a fun vacation! Once we got thru security and found our gate, we had time to enjoy breakfast and Starbucks :) before our flight started boarding.

Finally we arrived in Las Vegas!!!!! We went and checked in and were surprised that our room was ready for us, we were expecting to leave our bags and come back in a couple of hours since it wasn't check-in time yet. MGM Grand was as beautiful as I had remembered and it sure brought back fun memories from the girl's trip several years ago! Our room was perfect and we had a good view also!

Hooters Hotel right across the street

From our room, we could watch the airport shuttles pick people up and also watch everyone coming and going out the front of the hotel, it was great people watching!

We were starving so decided to eat in the food court of our hotel. The Strip was next on our agenda! It was HOT! I had been hearing nothing but stories about Vegas hurting for tourists and everything, but I don't believe it one bit, the place was packed! I don't think we went anywhere that there wasn't a crowd of people. Our first afternoon was just spent walking around and enjoying ourselves. We went in the Planet Hollywood Hotel, lots of shopping and sight seeing to do in there!

Paris Hotel~this is where we stayed last time
