10 weeks....

Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks pregnant. The baby is barely the size of a kumquat, a little over an inch long.

The most critical portion of the baby's development is now complete. This is a time when the tissues and organs in the body rapidly grow and mature. The baby is swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. The vital organs — including kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver — are in place and starting to function. Tiny fingernails and toenails are also starting to form!

The time is still continuing to fly by, well except for those moments when I am sooooooooo miserably sick......then time just seems to come to a complete standstill. The latest with me is just when I think I have this so called "morning" sickness figured out, then it changes up the pattern on me. Most recently, I am feeling sick in the evenings/night, usually starting around 6 or 7 lasting until I go to bed and actually fall asleep. Luckily I am back very exhausted again and have been going to bed fairly early so just a couple of hours a day of feeling so sick. The rest of the day is made up of pretty bad heartburn. I am able to take Tums so that has actually become my new favorite snack. I'm also convinced that this baby is going to be a vegetarian. The sight/smell/thought of meat is enough to send me running out of the room. Occasionally I can handle meat if it's in a prepackaged type meal or in some fast food where I don't have to really think about the meat being there, but I would prefer no meat at all right now. Cooking is a big challenge for me right now as I can't stand to smell meat cooking. I'm hoping that this problem with meat will pass soon.

Hopefully it will pass after 13 weeks...that is usually when the morning sickness lets up. Hang in there!! I made Chad quit wearing his cologne when I prego with Julie, and Juniper Breeze from bath and body works still upsets my tummy! :)
